• Excellence and Achievement: We believe in equipping every pupil with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed. Students leave Drybrook Primary School with strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking, ready to embrace future challenges with resilience and ambition.

• Safety and Well-being: The well-being of our students is at the heart of our ethos. We provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children can grow, thrive, and develop a strong sense of self-esteem and self-worth.

• Responsibility and Resilience: We encourage students to take responsibility for their actions and develop the resilience needed to overcome challenges. By embedding the values of respect, readiness, and safety into daily routines, we ensure students are prepared to engage fully in their learning journey.

Ethos:

Our ethos is rooted in a deep commitment to helping students dream big and achieve their potential. We believe that fostering a love for learning, combined with high expectations, mutual respect, and positive relationships, equips our pupils with the skills and resilience they need to navigate the future confidently.

Through the core belief that education is more than just academic achievement, we aim to develop well-rounded, confident, and respectful individuals who can make positive contributions to society. We encourage creativity, critical thinking, and adaptability, ensuring our students are prepared for life’s challenges.

Underpinning Educational Beliefs:

The following four educational beliefs guide all aspects of teaching and learning at Drybrook Primary School:
• Be Literate: Literacy is the foundation for all learning. We believe in fostering strong reading and writing skills that allow students to engage with the world around them, communicate effectively, and pursue lifelong learning.

• Be Numerate: Numeracy is essential for problem-solving and critical thinking. We aim to develop students' numerical abilities, enabling them to tackle both everyday tasks and complex challenges with confidence.

• Have the Ability to Think: We nurture critical and creative thinking skills in our students, encouraging them to analyze, question, and understand the world. Developing independent thinkers prepares our students to innovate and adapt in an ever-changing world.

• Generate Positive Self-Esteem and Self-Image: We believe that emotional well-being is key to success. By promoting positive self-esteem and a healthy self-image, we empower our students to be resilient, confident, and ready to overcome setbacks with determination.

School Aims:
• Inspiring Excellence: We inspire every student to aim high and achieve their potential, equipping them with the confidence and skills needed to succeed academically and personally.

• Empowering Independent Learners: We nurture independence and critical thinking, ensuring every child leaves us with the ability to think critically and creatively about the world around them.

• Promoting Well-being: We provide a supportive and safe environment where students can develop positive relationships, grow in self-esteem, and achieve emotional well-being.

• Building a Strong Community: We foster a collaborative school community where students, staff, and families work together to support and inspire one another, ensuring collective growth and success.

• Preparing for the Future: We prepare our students for the next stages of their education and life beyond school, encouraging them to embrace challenges with resilience and a love for lifelong learning.
